Sorry it been so long, things seem to have been manic here as ever. BUT I am glad to announce, as Juliana said we have organised another residents meeting on the 19th of November. Unfortunately as of yet we haven't set the venue, but we will let you all know where it is as soon as we know!

Hey Guys,

Just browsing our numerous blogs (!) and realised that because I have adjusted one of my email addresses it now comes up that i am writing as SARAH!!! This is very weird and I promise you that I am still Peri and will try to find a way of getting around my identity crisis!

Well done to all memebers of BASE involved in the Young Enterprise Programme - the feedback I've been getting is very exciting and seems to be creating lots of business minded off shoot projects and fundraising ideas for you all as well...

Hi guys

Firstly my apologies, its been far too long since i wrote on here! I will try to keep the blog better updated! Hope everyone is well??

I just popped on to let you all know that BASE will be in the producers market in Brynaman this saturday (the 16th of august) We will have a few games, like guess the number of sweets, lucky dip and guess the name of the teddy as well as just being there to meet and greet people to spread the word. If your about, please come and see us!

Long Time ... No speak ... !

Hey Base,
I thought i would write to you guys because we as BASE havent been using the blog as much as we liked. But hopefully now the busy rush o activities have gone and we can finally get back on track.

Last thursday evening , BASE had a presentation evening which local community groups came togethere and showed each others presentations. BASE went really well. Then as soon as we done ours we were rushed off down to Ammanford Miners theatre do do a show with Mess Up The Mess Theatre Company ' Keeping it Real'. It went amazing.

hey guys, it be-eth not te peri that we know and love, but the jacob that we know and love...im just here in my work experience with tess and tash, chillaaxing with a cup of tea after a hard week of work....i have to upload this vid for peri because if i didnt we would be one computer down......not realy, im just doing this because the girls are doing the animation......and thers no room for the jacob:'(......so yeah.....the week after exams, and here with mess up the mess doing my work experience...

Hey BASE,

Just had to get on here and big you all up for the AMAZIN launch of the DVD last night. The whole event was totally awsome and how cool that so many people made the effort to attend! - even the Sheriff of Carmarthenshire - you guys are getting more and more famous every day!

The cocktails were delicious, the buffet was grand, the presentation was wicked and the movie itself....FABULOUS!!!

Da iawn i chi i gyd. All your hard work pays off in the end doesn't it and you get to have so much fun in the process.

Cannon Street Clean Up

Hey guys!

I just thought i'd write to let you know that me and Tashy (thank u again hun!) Have just got back from the Cannon Street Community clean up in Lower Brynaman.

We were helping to clean up the Cannon Street park area (some of you may remember it, i believe it was quite popular a few years ago.) it had been very overgrown with lots of brambles, but after a a day of work yesterday by local schools, Keep Wales Tidy, Communities First, environment action and some volunteers and about 4 hours work from more volunteers today the park is now looking a lot better.

There are further plans to more develop the park, including possibly building new pathways and hopefully putting in new benches. I'll let you know more about this when I know!

2nd Residents Meeting!

Hey guys

I've just got back from the second BASE residents meeting, which was again very successful! Thanks to all those who attended for making the meeting very productive and giving us a new set of aims to aid us with our further projects. I hope you all found it as useful as I did. Hey BASE - I've finally arrived at the blog!

Its taken me this long to get around to it but I hope my real world support has made up for my lack of cyber communications thus far!

Anyways, just wanted to say a HUMUNGOUS WELL DONE to all of you Alex, Owain, Peter and Martyn who organised the community meeting, and all the rest of you too - you're all important to the future of BASE and cool stuff happening in your local area - for all the hard work and ideas you have been generating thru BASE. You should all be very proud of yourselves for making a difference to your community and challenging stereotypes about "the youth of today".

Your first meeting at Brynaman community centre was extremely well organised and everyone I've spoken to since is well impressed with all your ideas and ability to communicate your ideas and see them through.

You are all great role models for young people who are searching for ways to get involved and really MAKE THINGS HAPPEN.

Meeting held

On Wednesday 5th of december some member of BASE decided to hold a meeting with key local people from the area to discuss issues that have been raised to do with the young people. some issues discussed were :-

- Noise
- Throwing rocks.
- Underage Alcohol sales and parents letting their kids drink.
- A possible Chill out zone for the youth run by the youth.
- Youth workers are needed.
- Its not just the youth of Brynaman youth from other areas are coming in and ruining it for us.

If you feel you need to contribute please do as BASE are trying to sort out the problem.

The Strangers Project.

Heres a run down,

Messupthemess theatre company which is based in Brynaman have been over the past few months working on a production called 'strangers'. Its about heritage, Belonging and Wales. There are 3 countries taking part, Slough in England, New Zealand and Brynaman. We are currently in the 1st week so have only a few ideas but they are GENIUS so if youd like to be involved which would be nice please feel free to send a message and i can give you the details YAY

Today Nicola, Juliana, Owain, Alex all met to discuss our next project of a Halloween party because believe it or not Halloween is only 6 weeks away!!!! i know how weird..... anyway We have come up with a few ideas...... If anyone has any spare decorations they would be gratefully received!!!!! and if you have any of your own Halloween treats or ideas please don't hesitate to tell us!!!
